Rufus Carmichael, Jr. was from Elizabeth, New Jersey and had four other siblings. When he was 18, he served his country in Operation Desert Storm. Just a few years before Ashley's murder, he had lost both his previous wife and his daughter. His brother Jason wasn't cooperating at all when asked where Rufus may be.
