Father Charles Coglin was the most influential Catholic on Earth, says Peter Bergen. He had tens of millions of Americans listening to him every week; he could turn out 100,000 people at a rally easy, writes Bergen. But his political views were not always in line with those of the Catholic church, and some radio stations pulled off the air. "The only reason that gigantic number of people turned out was because the radio guy was there," said Bergen.
