Myoglobin Induced Acute Kidney Injury

One of the most common and dangerous complications of rhabdomyolysis is acute kidney injury or AKI. Myoglobin released from cells can directly injure the kidneys leading to AKI. Carbon hydrogen proton leakage combined with AKI can lead to life-threatening hyperclimian acidosis, and CK is a serum measurement that can help confirm the diagnosis of rhabdo.
