"I knew that you were going through similar. Yes, it was hard to be a lesbian," she says of her former co-star. "We had been told as gay people coming up that the knowledge that you were gay would ruin everything." She recalls being friends with Luther and seeing him at his home where he spent all his time watching TV in front of an immaculately furnished room.
