The Pendulum Clock
Pendulums change the way clocks were made forever. Galileo would go on to become a famous astronomer. But when he was just 17, he was a student at the university of pisa. Legend i that he was in church one day when he kind of drifted off. And as he watched it, he had a revelation. It looks like the chandelier takes the same amount of time to swing back and forth no matter how hard the wind is blowing.
