The Challenge of Modern Ethics

Many taboos and norms are socially determined from practices that would disadvantage us to groups. Many people have a yuck reaction to creating human non-human animals, chimeras or hybrids. The challenge I think of modern ethics today is not simply to sit with our intuitions because our intuitions are not necessarily reliable guys to what we should do. We can't simply look to our yuck reactions that are very crude rules of thumb that have served us in our primitive past.
