Is There a Difference Between Captivity and the Wild?

There are no obvious differences between animals in captivity, or domesticated animals, and those in the wild. It's not at all clear why they useer this ability in the wild - there's very little evidence that they do use it in the wild,. But maybe where we're missing something to the extent that you can test the same animals in two situations, they seem to be about the same. The research thas done into animals and their mathematical ability tends to be done with animals that are in captivity or therin lab setting.
