Is There a Better Equilibrium?

Democracy learned in the seventies that flirting with restraint leads to electoral disaster, because george mc govern did. A politician who went back to america's peace traditions and restraint would have to say things like, you don't like the world we've made, you're going to get it too as America declines. Above all, it's worth tolerating a little risk in order to do other things than wage perpetual war. And i think there's a case to be made that we can actually get a better outcome. Can i prove it? No. Can i raise suspicion that we can give in how disastrously we've done lately? I believe so.
