Is There a Black Hole Eclipse?

There's a broad diversity of black holes. The ones with big accretion disks are the ones that are easier for us to see, because you can see the accretion disk. Otherwise, it's very difficult to spot a black hole. You have to see it passing in front of something else. We can use these eclipses as ways to find stuff really, really far away.
