The Life and Times of Abu Reihan Al-Buruni
Abu Reihan Al-Buruni was perhaps destined from a young age to clash with Ibn Sin. He was slightly older, born around 973 AD, in the outskirts of Khath. His early life is not well documented, and it's likely that he was born into much more humble circumstances. Nevertheless, he does seem to have received a good education in a broad range of subjects. For example, he had a gift for languages, and learned Arabic, Persian, Greek, Syriac, Hebrew and Sanskrit.
