In russia, approval rating question is a part and parcel to elections. But i think in china there's just not a tradition of this type of question because it doesn't the person in power. So worst case there's public opinion data that shows shiten ping's performances waning or something like that. There's no interest in the c c p to have that type of data come out. And so as a researcher, when you you see the data coming back, you're trying to disentangle all those possibilities with concern about self censorship.
