How to Write a Messaging Document for Your Website
After we have positioning and a validated sales pitch of creating something that I used to call a messaging document. And so what the messaging document is is essentially approved boilerplate messaging. It allows you to work on some high level boilerplate and messaging that is going to form the starting point for everything else you want to go build. If you don't have a messaging document, the marketing team will build copy for the homepage. Then someone will show up and say, hey, we need like a brochure type thing for the sales team. Can we build one of those? Marketing team will say, great Yeah, sure we can.
