The Role of the Orthodox Church in the Transition to the West
The Catholic Church in Poland and the Lutheran Church in East Germany played an important role. Not all churches were always against communists, they could oftentimes collaborate with political regimes. I think people just basically all believed that the life in the West is better. The other thing, whether which country was more ready, also Hungary followed it closely.
