Is There a Storm?
If someone is very distressed, it's as if the environment is sympathetic to you. So now the speaker is seeing the boy's tears and this whole incident is reminding him of his own wound like memories. Every wound, i suppose, is a memory, but rarely a happy one. My head gripped in bony vice of knees. The writhing struggle to wrench free, the blows, the fear worse than blows that hateful words could bring. The face that i no longer knew or loved. Well, it is over. Now it is over."
