In the twentieth century, wit nogedel showed that there was no axiomatic system that could encompass all truths in arithmetic. With quantum theory and so on, we began to realize that not everything was predictable. So i think there's been a big shift in the sciences. And people ak brower were saying, well, you can't really rely on things being given in a platonic universe. You might say it exists platonically but there's an openness in what those digits are.
