How Do You Evaluate Poor Performers?
I think the real trick is not identifying poor performers, it's making sure that people think about performance. If you see folks doing the same thing two days in a row, that should be the clearest signal to you that something's wrong. I had a very critical mother. So it's very easy for me to start doing that with others. It's baked into my particulars of my family growing up. We're all very critical of one another. And I've developed a little more empathy over the years to channel that in productive ways.
