What Are the Megaliths?
There is no direct evidence of this from Badami, but just to give you a parallel example from Humpy in the Bailari district of North Karnataka during the Vijayanagara period. There was something, stones from the local landscape that seemed to be jutting out of the ground to about maybe 20 to 30 centimeters high. In clusters of about five or six, and these were interpreted by archaeologists to be horse stones. So if horses had to navigate through, they had to actually hurdle across. They had to cross this hurdle and this hurdle itself was spread over like, you know, six feet or 10 feet or that. And these were noticed only during archaeological survey at Humpy
