The Global Effect of the Gulf Stream Circulation
The slowing down of the Thermo-Hailine circulation. So you're sort of stratifying the ocean. You're preventing vertical overturning. And what that means is North eventually, so that one of the legs of thethermo-hailine circulation is the Gulf Stream. The warm tropical water from equatorial regions in the Atlantic moves up towards the cold regions near Greenland and sinks. But there's something now to counteract that that didn't used to exist. That's just the direct atmospheric heating from carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases.
