Ewen MacKinnon: I was exposed to the science fiction of potential future of artificial intelligence from an early age. He says his interest in data and statistics then came out through his professional life and PhD at Oxford. As he found that there were data they didn't have a good model for, he jumped across the pond to Stanford where he's been ever since.MacKinnon: The idea of trying to help people in whatever way I can is probably what led me to medicine.
