They were going places, and they made an impression on at least some of the other acts. In late 1964 Betty Weiss became pregnant. There was no way that an unmarried 17 year old pregnant girl could be presented as a member of a big pop group. For a few months she was gone from the group in public with no explanation. The song that they ended up recording had been intended by Martin for another group - not sadly the British comedy trio of the 70s.
