The Importance of Challenges

The importance of motivation is to figure out how to balance some of those motivational desires against perhaps potential costs of challenges. So moving into an optimal challenge zone doesn't necessarily mean that it's going to have decreased motivation. And then I think it's just figuring out how to emphasize the long term learning, making sure that the athletes understand that failures or errors are not going to determine whether they make the team for the next day.
