Is California Losing Its Importance in Democratic Politics?

It's quite a shift, obviously, you know, not that long ago that Republicans were winning statewide office in California. It doesn't tend to get much attention in national campaigns because Republicans write it off and Democrats don't even need to particularly bother campaigning. But I think for the foreseeable future, California will remain an incredibly important bellwether of democratic politics.
