The Divine Dilemma of Athanasius
Athanasius sets up a divine dilemma in which god is faced with this problem cause of human sin. The cross becomes a solution, because god's both kind and righteous in the way he forgives sin. What Athanasius does is actually a little bit farther back, and it has to do with the doctrine of creation. And so the choice for non being, that's sin, you're saying, yes.
