Is There a Supernova Defense?
There is a defense against supernova, several actually. The easier one is that you put a big thin piece of metal foil about Earth size between us and the candidate star. Gamma Raybors are trickier as first, they can't come in a code shape off the poles of the star that generated them. If we're bad enough we could see all or most land-based life sterilized.
