The Sootlawn Defect in Burgundy Wines

Sootlawn is a marker of premature oxidation. Burgundy wines after 1996 started to oxidize a little bit quicker and they started to display higher levels of sootlawn. And then this would come off as a defect kind of smelling this maple syrup curry like smell. So that's good I can imagine it becomes quite distracting when your pee smells like maple syrup all the time.
