What's the Value of Seeing the Ship?
The ship took ten months for endurance to sink. All the written records survived. The film survived. And frank hurley, who was the photographer, great australian photographer, one of the great photo journalists of the twentieth century, he kept around about 150 glass plates of the images. That's why these images still survive to day and are, in my view, the greatest photographs of antarctic exploration ever.
