i'm looking at you in what is become like an extremely familiar visual grammark, like the set up. And it's amazing to me how widespread it is and how dominant. This is now like the dominant aesthetic of how people talk on the internet. You're literally talking into the device that is the portal of the world. When i'm making a video, i turn to the side, thats where my camer's set up. It's sitting right there. But then, like, that is the window through which the world views me. I think a lot about what authenticity means - both the wonderful thing and also the peril of this performance of self.
