The Importance of Harmony in Relationships
Herd melodies are sweet, but those on herd are sweeter. Ye soft pipes play on, not to the sensual ear, but more endeared pipe to the spirit ditties of no tone. In the 19th century, a critic called Walter Pater said that all art should aspire to the condition of music. And I think what he meant by that was that music had a universality. It goes in deep. It sort of bypasses the brain almost. All art should try and be like that, not too specific. It should be universal. It should cut past the intellect and go somewhere deeper than that.
