F3: People don't recognize or begin to even think that you're in recession until something either hits them in the face, right? It could be like a Lehman failure or something like that. Locke: So it sounds like we are probably already in recession, might not know it. F3: There can be plenty of bear market rallies in particular in and around recessions. That's not unusual. They can be easily double digit rallies. This is a big one. The actual impact as those higher interest rates propagate through the economy lags long and variable. I don't know about a year from now when they really started to stomp on the brakes.
