The History of Alexandria

The rural part of Fautus Magnus was a center of power for the Ptolemaic dynasty. During Roman time, the palaces were used by the High Administration. The port stayed very important for the Roman because it was from that port that all the wheat going to Rome was gathered and could leave Egypt. Every year, there was a huge fleet leaving Alexandria with the wheat and going toward Austria toward Rome.
