Hillsong church has become very popular across Australia and also kind of across the Pentecostal Christian world. This guy, Carl Lentz, who's American, um, is attending Hillsong College in Australia. He becomes friends with Joel Houston and Joel pitches him on starting a church in New York city. Um, just this is like the peak of indie sleaze. It's like the skinny jeans, the stonoshades, the big white belts. Oh man. What a time.
