Anxiety triggers worry, which then makes us feel like we're doing something in control. If you can't find a place to let that go, if you can't step into a place of self compassion, it becomes persistently brutalizing experience. This isn't about roses and scented candles and unicorns; this is simply about thinking about the last time somebody was kind to us. And then we can think about times when we've been kind to ourselves.
