Marianne: Label this anxiety whenever you feel it. Maybe call it excitement instead of worry. Whatever you do, don't fight it. I once was giving a talk at the University of Chicago and this is an anxiety minute talk. It will be the end of my academic career, but that's okay because that's how bad this feels. And so I ended up just deciding to kind of push through and getting through it taught me that I would at least survive.

But when it comes time to actually throw in her two cents, she comes up short. She feels nervous. Her mind goes blank. And she leaves the session feeling frustrated that she didn’t voice her thoughts.
