The Five Definitions of Climate Change
The National Geographic Society says climate change is the long term alteration of temperature and typical weather patterns in a place. The Natural Resources Defense Council: Climate change is generally defined as a significant variation of average weather conditions over several decades or more. Yale University Sustainability, Yale Sustainability say climate change is changes in the average weather patterns of Earth's local, regional, and global climates. NOAA: Carbon dioxide concentrations are rising mostly because of the fossil fuels that people are burning for energy.
