Research in this area suggests that it's largely to do with the hyper focus on what you're eating and the need to like limit or restrict certain foods that's causing people to have such a higher risk of disordered eating. People think of eating disorders as this small silo that's very separate from health care and medicine but I think they are just not really talked about in mainstream wellness culture systems.
