I think both had an impact. I ought to make it clear for those listening that I was responsible for, as a cabinet member at the time, for the decision on Iraq,. But I wasn't embroiled in the scandal over allowances. On the first, it was the expectation that an upsurge of feeling from the grassroots led to people feeling that this was not working for them. And then, of course, the scandal which affected all political parties in the UK just added to a feeling, well, you know, they're not listening, they's not for us, they don't have our back. Therefore, politics isn't working for us.
