A lot of what I owned had once belonged to my grandfather. We actually got into a blazing row over his old cookery. He had been a gokali, serving in the 5th Gokka rifles during the Second World War. The idea of throwing away his blade felt like a kick in my chest. It wasn't long before I was spending my last nights in an almost abandoned house. Shelves, bare and wardrobes empty,. trying my best to sleep on a mattress I knew I was leaving behind. A letter claiming to be from a financial firm named Eberhart and Strauss addressed to me specifically made references to some very specific aspects of my situation. Drowning
