What Are the Guarantees That Putin Russia Won in Ukraine and Nato?
Russia wanted to make it abundantly clear n in terms of legally binding security guarantees that ukraine would not join nato. The process of nato expansion over the past 30 years has certainly provided the back drop, or the context against which we have seen declining trust between russia and the west. But there are other issues involved as well: There's the relationship with ukraine, independent of these issues. And even more than the uno perceived security threats, as i just mentioned, it's the issue of russia's unperceived exclusion at a time when after the cold war,. after the fall of the iron curtain, russia wanted to return to its historic rightful home
