How Spotify Can Change the Music Industry

Daniel: Why can't an artist upload or download their own music as an artist from Spotify and circumvent the entire record company process? Draper Fisher-Jurison: We really wanted to be a legal service from the get-go because our biggest thing for the music industry was, hey, all the stuff we have is legal. The problem that we'd have to solve is how do we make sure that you, in fact, are the rightful owner of your track? Daniel: Maybe one day they can, but it's not an immediate focus process.
