Do You Have to Crush the First Negative Thought?

The technique is based on the idea that the truth will make you free, which is a biblical notion. The therapist has to be willing to do a lot of role reversals with his or her client so they can answer in the negative and say, well, this is what this is about. But it does take quite a bit of practice on the therapist part. And I also tell the patient generally is OK if we both have to struggle a bit to defeat this thought.
