The Sheriff's Not Going After You, You're Going After the Sheriff
The movement did a very good job of training first at the highlander school in Tennessee, later at the Dorchester school in Georgia. They focused their recruiting on the counties that had a black majority population but almost no black voters. SNCC went into Mississippi in the summer of 64 doing what they called freedom summer to really bring up local black people across the state and teach them civics about their rights.
