CHAPTER

Pre-Hospital Use of Fascicoliaca Component Blocks

The full RCT which looks to answer whether or not pain is better controlled when a fascioliaca compartment block versus standard care is given to these patients with suspected fractionic femurs. There are several studies already from around the world that have demonstrated safe effective application of these blocks by different clinicians including paramedics and emergency pre-hospital nurses who receive specific training in the technique and they could deliver it safely and effectively so I think it's really exciting to see this rapid two trial ongoing. Simon says he personally thinks we can improve the patient's experience in the pre-hospital setting by upskilling a group of pre-hospital practitioners to deliver these blocks.
