The History of Dousing Rods
Dousing is divination involving a properly shaped stick or bent copper rods. It originally involved looking for water, and then later you could douse for other things as well. Someone sold what was basically a glorified dousing rod to the British Army as a bomb detector but it didn't work. Astrology is kind of like the idea you might have heard of the phrase as above so below. The idea is that what's happening in the sky or in the stars in some way controls or manipulates or affects what's happening on Earth.
