Is There a Copula Function in a Signed Language?

In Auslan, there's no specific copula sign. To do a copula, you have the subject and then you have the other thing that you're linking it with,. So word order is very important for establishing a copula relationship. In Arabic, in the present tense, if there isn't a negation going on, there just isn't a word for the copula. And this just gets us into something that sometimes comes up. We're talking about copulas, which is languages that sometimes put the copula and sometimes don't.
