Hard work is necessary for you to achieve your potential in whatever endeavor you are pursuing. But it doesn't differentiate your success slash failure when compared to others. The entrepreneurial and self-help gurus sell this message of hard work being all that matters. It might be well intentioned, but when we leave out the messiness of luck, talent, opportunity, it sends a false message again.
