The Hero's Journey

The hero's journey is a very specific kind of story that often, like you said, a horror movie does not want to be a hero story. I think even if you're working outside of the hero's journey, like using as a strict like kind of plot outline, you can come into stories with that idea and not exist in that plot structure. But still, I think it gives your stories a good rhythm. And it's a great way to like pull off a character arc,. Again, everything has its usage and its place.
