It is currently possible to dishonestly influence podcast rankings by hiring shady podcast promotion companies. This traffic isn't comprised of real people. It's comprised of bots. Anyone willing to spend money on this fake bot traffic can game the charts. If you want to help out, there is a form that's linked in that article that you can opt into.
