The Motiv of Sacrifice

In the old testament, sacrifice was seen as a way to stave off suffering. But in modern times it's more about how we can reduce anxiety and uncertainty that awaits us. We're also doing it so that wou know, we can have some joy, and we can make life better. And i don't remember anybody pointing out that like the sacrifices that cane and abel were making are the sacri e that abraham was supposed to make. At least for me, et didn't a line self, evidently....
