Alex r wrote in asking about our thoughts on github sponsors as a funding method for developers. I think it's probably ok for the casual, sort of hobbyist developer who is well employed, doesn't really need it as a primary source of income. Even if someone could make, say, a hundred thousand dollars a year from crowd funny, you would become uncomfortably dependent on that one funding source. And if anything has taught me one lesson at all on the internet, is you've got to diversify your income streams.
