Do You Think Same-Sex Schools Are Better?
I went to a single-sex school for most of my secondary schooling and we chafed against it horribly. We were so appalled by the restricted access we had to boys but now I think, thank goodness, we didn't know how good we had it. If they kept girls and boys separate, that's really hard for kids to be together at that age because there's so much sexual tension. It sets up a terrible competition among women, much more difficult for girls to make girlfriends when there's boys around. You end up with this magnification of the traits distinctive to each sex. There are downsides to those homosexual groups but I also think that they are very important"
